I once posted on Thatcher's reaction to the IRA bomb attempt on Gibraltar back in the 80s. I said the Parliament approved their throats being cut.
This was incorrect, they were simply shot multiple times while on the ground.
My only excuse is an incorrect reading of some words of Thatcher.

In that context maybe the issue was the summary killing of the suspects.
I am left with a sole excuse. The Parliament maybe made an analogy concerning the means of the judgment. Even if the execution was by throat cutting, it would be justified.

In this this test of my memory I reference a Washington Post article from like 35 years ago. Concerning South Korea's nuclear weapon program.
A paraphrase. "What would you do if you were South Korea?"

You were as usual totally wrong in every possible way. The terrorists
were suspected of having planted a car bomb, when challenged they ran.
The security forces shot them as they suspected they would use a remote
detonator to blow up the car they had left in a major tourist location.
The police had handed control to the military as is the normal procedure
in such circumstances. Parliment was not involved, except that authority
was delegated by the Prime Minister and Ministry of Defence.

As it happened this was a dummy run, the actual car bomb was found
parked up in Spain. The UK at this stage had plenty of history of
dealing with IRA car bombers, I was slightly injuted in the Baltic
Exchange bombing.

Well my details are a memory of a memory. I forgot it was a test run.
I do remember a Parliament approval of the operation.

for what it's worth The IRA are ugly crap where the badge of membership
is to get a kill in. Although there are misguided members.

One more nuclear item.

Ukraine's "Black Swan" event is inferable.
Put Russia in a winter panic. St Petersburg or Moscow as targets.
Detonate a dirty WMD device. If Russia has intelligence on this topic
prepare for it. A mass evacuation in the deep winter.

Put the city check points in. Get the urem meters there. Weigh each vehicle.

The IAEA inspection was a travesty of due diligence. Basically the easy design
options are Co-60 or CESIUM-137. Cesium would be my choice as it is amenable
to fuming. Cut the source, tape the seam, and fire to a fume filled van. Then
blow the van.
