Hello:
I registered this domain for a doctor, and he turned out to be so busy
that he doesn't need the site.

The domain lasikdoctor.com is for sale for $7500 USD. To my thinking,
this is one of the premiere lasik-oriented names available on the market.

Thanks for your interest,

Zachary Miller

Well Zachary , I am not a Doctor but I think you are a bit of a Shyster.

Why not come right out and say you want to make a BIG BUCK on this.
It only cost you about $80 USD to register for two years.
How many sites have you registered, where the people are just "tooo busy" ?
I think the world could do well without you.

Actually, Karl, this is the first site I've ever registered that has
been placed for sale. I've registered many domains for people--not one
has ever been placed on the market.

And it cost me $70 dollars. Not $80.

But thanks for the kind thoughts.

Personally I cannot stand cyber-squatting, but if I were in your shoes, I'd
be trying to sell it for more than $7500. And I wouldn't be trying to sell
it on this group. I would think it would be worth multiple of times more
than that.

I cannot fathom why someone would use a newsgroup such as this to push the
sale of a domain name! This type of blatant advertising is way out of place
in a newsgroup devoted to so many people and their eye problems. That's the
second "domain name for sale" ad that has appeared here now (that I know
of). And isn't it interesting that both ads initially appeared on the same
day.

I have found it better to ignore any spam coming to the newsgroups, since any
response at all (pos or neg) will result in additional traffic, sometimes *lots*
more.

Sorry for violating my own rule on occasions like this...

Flyer99,

I am sorry if I offended you by posting the message here.  My reasoning was quite simple.  I had something that would be of most interest to vision care professionals.  I looked on the web for a central location of vision care professionals and I found this newgroup.  If there is another discussion group that you know of where this message would be more appropiate I'll post the message there.
I agree that that this group seems to do wonderful job of helping people with their vision problems and questions.
The suggestion that I am somehow working with "www.lasikdoctors.com"  actually made me laugh...sorry.  I certainly am not hiding anything from anyone.  I could have posted the message anonomously, using some made up alias and email, but you'll notice I've always used my real name and email.  You can even go to my homepage, www.jeremyknopow.com, and find my resume if you really want to know more about me.

When I'm not busy, I like to report them to SpamCop, which usually results in the
spammer's account being shutdown. Unfortunately, ignoring the spam is like condoning
it. I can't however, justify dedicating all my waking hours to eradication as some
do.
SpamCop is a free service at http://spamcop.net/
its just a matter of copy/paste and click. SpamCop is an automatic address checking
thingy that reads past the falsified address, and then sends a complaint to the ISP.
I have had many friendly messages from the network administrators thanking me for
informing them of the Spam.

I not am going to had to this discussion. However, I have used the page
(www.spamcop.net) that this person suggests to fight spam. I have found
spamcop very beneficial. To my *surprise*, I have gotten letters from the
network administrators thanking me for reporting me of the spam that was
sent by their customers. I am surprised how effective this site is in
getting the appropriate information to report them. One other thing, it is
very easy to use. I cannot over emphasized that. It really is easy.

I once got on spammers account terminated. Too, this is a surprises me....I
am usually a cynic in fighting spam. But this site is effective.

My two cents,

Martin
