This might sound silly, but I need to find game software for my Windows XP
called "Chip's Challenge." I had this on my older computer with Windows 95,
but it disappeared when my computer died.

Do any of you know where I can find this game for downloading? By playing this
game, I learned how to merge into oncoming traffic with perfect timing.
Really!

That site says currently unavailable. Thanks anyway.

Nuh-unh.... ;-)

I just clicked on it and went to the site, Judity.
Maybe you could cut and paste the link and see if that makes a difference.

I did get to the site okay, but further screens said the game was unavailable.
This is the same type of message I've been getting for weeks now through other
Google sites. It is in an old Microsoft game package and no longer seems
supported by them. I realize it's just a game, but Chip's Challenge is a blast
to play. You have to think logically to get from level to level, and I enjoyed
everything about it except those blasted toothy monsters.

I guess I'll keep looking or maybe bring my old computer into the shop to see
if they can rescue Chip.

I saw something on one of the gamers boards while I was looking that said
the game is more-or-less compatible with XP - something about some of the
title bars disappearing, etc., but it sounded as if it could still be played
on XP.

Try one of these for download:
http://free-game-downloads.mosw.com/abandonware/pc/puzzle_games/games_c_d/chip_s_challenge.html

http://www.freewebs.com/chipshome/chips.html

http://www.freeoldies.com/download.php3?game=Chip's+challenge

or Google on "Chip's Challenge" Download, and see where else you can find.
I know you know to see your antivirus is up to date and scan the download
before using any of these, but you should be able to find a clean copy
somewhere, and get your game back.

Judity, here's site (Video Game Liquidators) where I've found some of the
older games for my kids:

www.VGLQ.com

Their prices are usually very good too.

Jay, you are wonderful, fantastic, aces in my book, king of the world, and
might even be added to my will.

I now have Chip back on my computer ready to tease and tantalize my little gray
cells. What more can I say but, THANK YOU!

A much relieved and happy
