I went to my urologist again yesterday. He said that I no longer have a
urological problem. He believes that I am depressed. As I understand it,
the urological pain ordeal caused the depression, and now that the
urological problem is solved the depression is keeping the pain going.

I am willing to explore any options, but I am skeptical. I know that I do
not feel depressed. Except for the terrible pain I feel great. Work,
home, etc. Everything is great but my health.

IMHO - your doctor's full of horse hooey.

Ask him to prove it.

This is his pathetic way of dealing with his own failure to cure you.

In My Humble Opinion, of course.

Sounds like B.S. to me. If he's like that to all his patients then I bet they
are all depressed. It would certainly depress me to have such an idiot for a
doctor. Unfortunately it's a pretty common attitude. "If the antibiotics
don't cure you then it has to be in your head."

How about giving us a quick rundown of your symptoms and the treatments you
have tried? Also, try and localize the pain a bit. Where exactly does it
hurt and is it a dull ache or a stabbing pain? Pulsing? Burning? Constant or
Variable? Is your prostate enlarged at all? Any problem with urination?
Erection? Ejaculation? Don't be shy. We've all been there.

This sounds to me like an incompetent urologist dabbling in psychology.
Find a doctor who will do lab work on your EPS and prescribe antibiotics
based on sesitivity testing and drainage. See the website
http://www.prostate.org and write me after you've read up on things a bit.

It's a battle, but there's no reason you need to listen to such bad advice
as you received from this doctor.
