>Hi Folks,
I was treated with Rocephin 4 different times.I had post Vasectomy
prosititis. The Rocephin helped along with ceftin 500mg. I ended up
having a epididyectomy. to fix my problem. Regards, Dave
A few weeks ago an interesting letter appeared on the list (which I am
reproducing here) about a clinic in the Caribbean where one of the
antibiotics used in treatment of prostatitis was Rocephin. Has anyone
had experiences with Rocephin?

I live in the Caribbean and my doctor has a rather unique approach or if
you may call it protocol for the treatment of chronic prostatitis. It
was that protocol that worked for me in the sense that I am going into
my third year without symptoms and with relatively sterile cultures of
EPS and urine specimens. You see, like most chronic
sufferers I had been in misery for the previous five years moving from
uro to uro in the United States, Canada, London and France; I even
visited with a Voo-doo doctor in Senegal. The protocol used by Dr.
Daniel on the Island of Dominica was significant for his use of
Rocephin, Zithromax, Flagyl, and Utinor over a period of several weeks
with Prostatic massage as needed in the first couple weeks. One of my
very close friends reported to me that his regimen of treatment by Dr.
Daniel had included potent anti-inflammatory agents in addition to
antibiotics. Another told me that he had been treated for three months
with a GnRh analog in addition to antibiotics and prostatic massage.
Both these gentlemen claim to have been cured of disabling chronic
prostatitis. I believe that it is clear that what we call chronic
prostatitis might present itself differently in different individuals
and therefore might demand different approaches based
on the manifestations of symptoms and microbiology of the infective
organisms. Also what used to be called non-bacterial or psychological
might very well be later found to be caused by bacteria and viruses not
yet identified by presently available lab tests. After all, it is not
long ago since the Aids virus was identified and since then many
variations of the virus have been identified. I guess what matters most
should be the end result of treatment.
Incidentally, Dr. George Daniel works with the Global Medical Health
Centers And Resorts, tel: 809-448-1900, fax: 809-448-1902, E-mail:

Interesting note, neither here not there however. This USL points
eventually to http://www.prostate.org which is the home page for the
Prostatitis Foundation around which this news group is built. While I
tend to agree that CP may be an STD, you can't use this URL as proof
as it point to another article which is often quoted as well. Just my
thoughts.
