Six years ago I had total knee arthroplasty of both knees using the then
current Charnley prostheses. Whilst completely successful in removing the
pain of osteoarthritis, the procedure has left me with knees which bend to
no more than 95 degrees (left knee) and 120 degrees (right knee), which
means I have great difficulty getting up from a fall, or out of the bath,
and of course I can neither kneel nor squat.
What are the chances of having a revision using the newer full-flexion
prostheses that permit full flexion, kneeling and squatting ?
