After an unsuccessful 3 month Doxy treatment, I am now on Biaxin
and...Ceftin (doc had originally prescribed Supra but the insurance
kicked it back...)
Don't feel too bad, except for this worrying twitching in my left hand
between the thumb and the index, pretty spooky !
Also my joints ache a bit, especially those that are subject to stress
like my ankles and my knees.
Damn this is a bit scary !

I think it is sad that with a new baby you have it marred by feeling bad!!! (I
am assuming the baby came or will soon! Whenever I see you post I wonder if it
was a boy or girl and if he/she has come yet*)! I wish you felt better- the
good news- not only did the vast majority of my twitching go away on Biaxin
particularly but I have heard that from a few others as well. So I hope it
goes away!! Soon!*)!

I still have twitching and jerking due to painful neuro pains that shoot
through my arms, legs and even my head & eyes. I get muscle twitching all over
from time to time (non-painful, normally).

Tho I am feeling better, in general, this has not gone away or subsided one
bit (pardon the pun). I was bitten badly in 1994, had numerous treatments,
including IVs several times, and I think I'm as good as I'm gonna get.

By the way, Biaxin quit working after about 15 months - had a horrible relapse
while taking it along with Plaquenil. In fact, I got sicker than ever after
that and stayed very ill again for a few years. Careful of
drug-resistance...it happened to me.

The Baby is born and she's a beautiful baby girl called Louise.
I've really been enjoying her in spite of that darn bug. I don't feel
bad really. I just worry that the hot/red/itchy/halo sounding ears
aren't going to go away and that the twitching isn't going to improve.
Symptoms aren't that bad, just unpleasant.
Dr. S. was also a bit disappointed that the Doxy didn't kill off the
bug. He said that when there's twitching like that, it means that the
bug has rooted itself deep in the tissues/nerves and that it's harder
to get it out.

I wish this was a fast recovery- or a guaranteed one- but I am glad your baby
is here- what a lovely, old-fashioned name! Now every time I read your posts I
will go, "He has a beautiful baby girl named Louise."
