Abstract
The current view is that bacteria need to enter the brain to cause
inflammation. However, in mice infected with the spirochete Borrelia
turicatae, we observed widespread cerebral inflammation despite a
paucity of spirochetes in the brain parenchyma at times of high
bacteremia. Here we studied the possibility that bacterial
lipoproteins may be capable of disseminating from the periphery across
the blood-brain barrier to inflame the brain. For this we injected
normal and infected mice intraperitoneally with lanthanide-labeled
variable outer membrane lipoproteins of B. turicatae and measured
their localization in blood, various peripheral organs, and whole and
capillary-depleted brain protein extracts at various times. Lanthanide-
labeled nonlipidated lipoproteins of B. turicatae and mouse albumin
were used as controls. Brain inflammation was measured by TaqMan RT-
PCR amplification of genes known to be up-regulated in response to
borrelial infection. The results showed that the two lipoproteins we
studied, LVsp1 and LVsp2, were capable of inflaming the brain after
intraperitoneal injection to different degrees: LVsp1 was better than
LVsp2 and Bt1 spirochetes at moving from blood to brain. The
dissemination of LVsp1 from the periphery to the brain occurred under
normal conditions and significantly increased with infection. In
contrast, LVsp2 disseminated better to peripheral organs. We conclude
that some bacterial lipoproteins can disseminate from the periphery to
inflame the brain.

What was done to Karen Forschner also is inhumane. Their
foundation was the first and correct one......They helped many many
people in the early days and now they are stomped out like a stepped
on smashed tomato and wanting her to say that the autopsy on her son
did not show spirochetes...........and it did. How do they get away
with all that ---talk about fashism or communism-----I wonder....
I always said and will say it again Steere started the Amer. Fdtn. in
NY and he is from Mass. That was to get his claws closer to Dr.
B.....As you know also Igenex test is not accepted in NY.........I
still can't get the study paper on the 31kda epitope test for chronic

Pat Smith deliberately worked to discredit
the Forschners. She was instructed to by
Ray Dattwyler. Because she took that bait,
she won't admit that the skit was designed
to also discredit herself. For all her efforts
to then take over ActionLyme, she did not
hire anyone smart enough. Weintraub
is not a scientist. She never could be
the leader of a effective group if she is
not a scientist.

her on some windows media player - it was some sort of conference --
seemed like she tried to take over the whole show......what I picked
up briefly as I did not watch the whole thing - she knows nothing
about medicine as you say scientist she is not.......Also McSweegan
discredited the Forschner's also ---really slander........got away
with that too......

I don't know what that means.
There is no 31kD test for Lyme.
You are not allowed to have that antibody
and have Lyme, despite it being so
specific it was a vaccine.

Yes, he did. The Forschners were under attack
from all sides. Pat Smith helped. What Karen
and Tom did, did not flatter Pat Smith, and the
only thing Pat Smith cares about is Pat Smith.
Next up for that role is Weintraub. She does
not care what happens to future Lyme victims,
either, as long as she gets what she wants.
Same with her West Coast Lyme dronies.
