I must confess that it was a little bit shocking to read all the very
personal attacks against some of the colleagues in the last days. With
respect to your struggle for patients interests in Kansas or elsewhere-
maybe you´re right in some aspects- nevertheless I don´t believe it is
the right place for those kind of fierce charges against other dentists
here.
The newsgroup "sci.med.dentistry" is first of all a worldwide forum to
discuss and change experiences about questions concerning dentistry from
both sides, patients as well as members of dental profession. And in
particular this newsgroup is not a court and no one of us is here to be
the jury. Beside of this, most of us don´t care about others peoples
activities in their freetime, so please keep your "private war" to be a
very private affair far away from smd. Thank you very much.

I respect your sense of confusion if you're new (lurker or poster) to
this newsgoup. This has less to do with Kansas or elsewhere than it
has to do with serious problems in dentistry which have come to the
attention of this forum over the past 2 or 3 years during discussions
concerning dentistry's role in the care of conditions called TMJ or
TMD.
The charges have become of interest to this group for many reasons to
detailed to describe in this post.

Indeed, the newsgroup is of worlwide distribution. What dentists do
online with their titles DDS do matter in the opinion of some. What
did dentistry have to do with Dr. Weiser's social exchanges on the
net? I don't know but he does. You probably don't know the history
of all that which resulted either. Perhaps in your country this would
not be considered a professional problem (I just don't know, but I
suspect you would). Although we may not care (or know for that
matter) what Dr. Weiser does with his free time....... what he has
done with his freetime on the net is not "private". It is public.
There is more to this, but again, not for this post.
This isn't a private war. In the USA, there is something in the name
of TMJ or TMD which supposedly affects approximately 20% or 57 million
people. The condition isn't understood yet the treatment is rampant.
The harm is out of control. The cost to the patients and to our
society is out of control. We have an enormous crisis in this
country. Perhaps it is not so in yours. We (Webby & Chang) surely
hope the crisis does not extend globally. We wish to bring attention
to some of the causes (as we see it) and this group is not at all
pleased by our effort. This is a milti-billion dollar industry (per
year, of course) and there are many dentists and other professionals
who would not want their practices impacted by the reality of this
crisis.
Thank you for your comments. I hope you will attempt to understand
what is not simple to explain about what is happening here.

It seems a little early for summer re-runs. As you will recall, many
of us were disturbed by the paranoia delusions of Webby & Chang. And
to prove this, I purposely posted several rude and crude notices in
sex groups. I knew that W & C couldn't leave folks alone, so I had to
prove that they had nothing better to do than to intrude in people's
personal lives. The proof is in the pudding. Things are so bad now
that "re-runs" are necessary. As I suggested in an earlier post, W&C
need a cure for their paranoia delusions--how about the Ebola Virus?

It was specifically because of the antics of W&C that I declined to post
any personal information in alt.support.jaw-disorders and I actually
dropped it. They are very paranoid and their behavior drives away people
who would otherwise benefit from a support group.
