Alright, I have had no luck in finding anything on a gamma ray deficit
from the Sun due to the Bethe cycle would predict gamma ray surplus
while AP-cycle would predict gamma ray deficit.
Keep in mind that the Bethe cycle predicts 2X as many neutrinos as
actually observed while AP cycle predicts what is observed.
So the question was whether there is a Solar Gamma Ray deficit or
surplus? Trouble here is that gamma rays end up as low energy photons
before they escape the Sun and we cannot measure the "native gamma
rays".
So let me look at another difference between the Bethe cycle and AP-
cycle and hopefully is measurable.
The Bethe cycle takes two protons and eliminates one of the protons to
becoming a neutron. Now if we take the primordial Sun and make the
assumption that it was electrically neutral at the beginning of its
history, meaning that it had the same number of positive charge as it
had negative charge. So that in the Bethe cycle, the sun and stars
would have an imbalance of charge for it is converting a proton into a
neutron and thus leaving behind a negative charge that adds to an
overall surplus of electrons.
In the AP-cycle, the fusion of hydrogen into helium takes out equal
numbers of positive and negative charge. In the Bethe cycle there is
the elimination of a positive charge with a electron left behind.
So here we see a fundamental difference between the Bethe cycle and AP-
cycle, that the AP-cycle starts the Sun of charge neutral and
throughout its fusion, remains charge neutral. In the Bethe cycle,
every time a diproton is formed, leaves behind a electron to increase
the negative charge surplus. Now one can say that the positron formed
after the deuteron will seek a electron and annihilate it. But still
there is an intervening time interval before that annihilation and
thus a permanent charge imbalance of electrons.
Now I am not aware of any charge imbalance of the Sun or other stars
and that would favor the AP-cycle. And frankly, I have a hard time of
envisioning a star plasma with electrical charge imbalance. Would it
mean something like having lightening bolt flashes in the Sun along
with its plasma?
So here is something that can be measured of the Sun, for an overall
imbalance of electrons to protons. The AP-cycle leans to a overall
neutral charge, whereas the Bethe cycle leans to a electron negative
charge surplus.
