Dear Colleagues,

We are glad to announce that we offer three prizes (for a total of 2500
Euros) for the development of a new approach towards Khinchin's Laws
for random processes (Law of the Iterated Logarithm, 1924).

This new approach relies upon a concept of energy absorption by
critical curves. Please see:
for a description of the topic and of the prizes.

General subject : Probabilities/Stochastic Processes/Random Walks

Competences needed: probabilities, combinatorics.

This new approach is intended to allow quantitative versions of
Khinchin's laws, which will be useful for real-life applications.

Please forward this announcement to your colleagues and students.

Best regards,
