Nowadys, there are more and more online translation websites such as
translia.com where a client can post translation jobs and translators
can bid or take translation job. Have you ever try one of these? I
have little experience on it but seems the modle of translia is a
little different with others - translator can really do the
translation on it directly - I doubt the speed but also am excited
about their ideas and innovations. Any suggestion on translation
through these websites? any payment issue? Thank you!
I tried years ago one translation site on the internet. I let one
quite normal and short sentence in French to be translated to
German. It turned out that not only was the translation wrong
but the transcription also could be interpreted in such a way
that a decent man would never say that to a woman. I posted that
to one of the language groups but unfortunately don't have the
stuff in my memory now. I doubt that the state of the art has
advanced too much in the meantime.

Have you looked at what such sites typically offer to pay translators?
If the user is happy with the quality that someone produces for a tenth of
what a professional charges, why not use free machine "translation"
instead. The quality would be in the same ballpark, only more consistent.
