I don't normally do medical text, but in the middle of an industrial
specification from Mexico, I have come across some medical terms. The
context is a list of equipment for a medical office at a job site. I
have included some of the terms I already know, to show the context.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Speaking of which, I occasionally get difficult medical stuff cropping up in
stockbroking reports on companies in that sector, and I haven't a clue as
finance and marketing is my bag. I have to solve the problems by trawling
around the internet, but it can be a hassle. Does anyone know of a reliable
and preferably very large D-E medical dictionary available on CD?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Jonathan Holland

I don't know if it's available on CD, but again, I recommend the Pschyrembel
(Klinisches Wörterbuch) very, very warmly. (That would be "hot", right? ;))
It's no real bilingual dictionary, but in most cases it gives the English
equivalent if there is one. I think every medicine student in Germany has
one and I, doing medical translations from time to time, rarely come across
terms that are not in there.

I like the Thieme Leximed and/or the Unseld Medic (DE-EN-FR)--though to be
honest, I haven't had to put them to the acid test yet (i.e. done a job on
the road where I didn't have print dictionaries at hand). Pretty
affordable, too. I think I got them both from ibdltd.com.

Thanks Susanne, I have tracked it down and see that it is only 40 euros for
the CD version, so I'll certainly order it.

Thanks Mary. Thieme is presumably pretty good judging by the price for the
CD of 229 euros. I get no hits for "Unseld Medic".

In article <3c92a8bb.251527777@localhost>, spamtr...@houston.rr (Steve M

The above site has some discriptions that should help.

Thanks, I appreciate that. However, I posted the questions on March
15. The job's long gone.

I'm interested in learning more about this, but the link doesn't work.
