You must mean 'choudai'. It is formally used in expressions like
'{something} wo choudai itasimasu', which means "I will take (get)
{something}". Similar in a sense to '{something} wo kudasai'.
In conversational speech, this is shortened to '{something} choudai',
meaning 'give me that' or 'I'll have that'. It can be shortened even
further to 'choudai', which means something along the lines of 'gimme'
or 'gimme that'.
Chou and dai (tai) are both kanji for 'itadaku'; chou is the simpler
of the two; tai is a more complex character. Hope this helps you
locate them!
