Can anyone decipher what the attached Japanese writing translates to
English? This is on an old painting in my posession.

Not me. Of course it might* help if the attached writing was actually
attached. sci.lang.japan is a _text_ newsgroups and binary postings will
often be blocked entirely (or have the attachment stripped off).

Host your image on a temporary web-site (/ image host site) and post
a link to it.

* But probably not.
