could someone explain me what's the difference between photogrammetry
and stereo vision ?

is retrieving 3d coordinates of several points using stereo vision
techniques (by matching points of interest, finding the epipolar
geometry and then calculate the coordinates) can be called
photogrammetry ? it is exactly the same, isn't it ?

thanx a lot for this precision...

best regards.
Mike.

Photogrammetry stands for any technique or process that allow us to obtain
dimensional properties of photographed objects, so stereo vision uses some
of the principles of photogrammetry but usually it does not take into
account accuracy as such a prioritary aim.
Some single-view techniques are also Photogrammetry in full sense (via
rectification or perspectiive analysis) , also convergent image sets are
needed in some photogrammetric works. As a conclusion, not only stereo pairs
nor epipolar geometry are materials of photogrammetry but also any
raesonable way you imagined in order to extract accurate dimensions from
images (drawings, radiographies... as well).
This is my own vision of the question ;-)

ok, so in fact, stereo vision is one of the photogrammetry techniques.

nice, it makes the thing clearer !

thanx a lot !

best regards.
