Can anyone tell me the meaning of messages 41, 50 & 27 in the TSIP
binary protocol? (all messages are output messages)

The TSIP spec is here:
http://trl.trimble.com/dscgi/ds.py/Get/File-6222/TSIP%20Reference%20Manual%20-%20Rev%20C.pdf
(8M pdf)

But those numbers aren't all there, you don't specify if they are hex or
decimal numbers but either way at least one is not listed.

If it's not in the publised spec but you are getting those codes from
the unit then my guess would be that they are either platform or
application specific messages that it is safe to ignore.
