Helo friends,
can any body tell about the limit of gas oil ratio(GOR)for selecting
the type of artificial lift system? What is the GOR limit for
installing SRP to produce low energy or low deliverability well? In my
company a well is having depth of about 3000m, poor permeability (<
1md)and producing at GOR of 1000 (V/V)at FTHP of 100 psi. Is it
suitable for installing SRP.
Thank you.

I am not sure what SRP is, or I would try to answer your question.

Maybe, the fractional flow curve will influence the GOR.

A sucker rod pump can handle a wide variety of conditions. In your case, I
think you can have a successful installation. Gas will tend to lock the
pump, so you must try to locate the pump below the perforations and/or set
up a gas anchor, where the fluid will enter the perforated sub and be forced
downward between the intake tube and the mud anchor for 15-30 feet before
being allowed into the pump intake. This will force the gas to be produced
up the casing annulus, and allow the pump to have a lower gas content fluid
for more efficient pumping. Sometimes the addition of rods in the tubing
string reduces the cross-sectional area of the tubing sufficiently to allow
the well to flow, even while it is pumping. This condition is called
flumping. Let me know if you need additional information.
