Update: The rock had two small pieces break off during cleaning and new pics
are up of the break. The pieces that broke off look metallic with a
silver/copper coloring.

I'm student in geology at the university of Liege, Belgium. I must do a
little work about copper phosphates.
I'm trying to get the earliest info possible on their structure depending on
pressiure and temperature of crystalisation. Do you have any reliable
references in english or french I could use, dating before 1980, as ones one
can find in the Ameican or Canadian Mineralogist or a reference book of any
kind.

Thanks.

Try looking in "Oxide zone geochemistry" by Peter Williams (Ellis
Horwood Ltd., 1990). ISBN 0-13-647553-1. Has a substantial bibliography.
