I am looking for information on the eastern continental divide,
with little results. I suspect it will not be as linear as the western
version but there must be a line of places that divide water to the
Atlantic or the Gulf and am hoping it must be mapped somewhere.
Any pointers?

Thank you

Try http://www.usgs.gov/nationalatlas

When you get to the map browser, select Hydrologic Units (under Water),
and zoom in on any area you'd like to see.

The line between Ohio River and Atlantic Coast is clear, even on a
nation-wide scale. If you want to get the distinction across Georgia to
Florida, you have to zoom in far enought to see the streams, so you can
judge which way they flow.

1) Aren't the Atlantic and the Gulf parts of the same body
of water?
2) If you are going to that fineness of division, and given
that distinction, don't forget the northward drainages to
the Great Lakes and beyond.

Get out a map with the topology and rivers marked on it and draw
a line along the highest points such that it does not intersect any rivers.
That should give you a reasonable approximation, depending on your
needs. You might check the USGS website, too.

Good luck,
