FREEWARE GEOPHYSICAL SOFTWARE FOR DOS
*************************************

-this is another reposting of my freeware geophysical software
offering. The posts themselves don't seem to last too long. I'm trying to
set up a WWW page, but in the meantime I'll have to repost here every month
for a while (hope no-one minds).

The DOS software is :-
Mag2dc : 2.5D magnetics forward modelling
Grav2dc : 2.5D gravity forward modelling
GeoModel : 2.5D simultaneous magnetics & gravity forward modelling
VES : Schlumberger resistivity modelling & inversion
SignProc : Profile data filtering ; RTP, LP,HP,BP, continuation, etc etc
PFproc : Map data filtering ; strike filters, derivatives, etc etc
GravMap : Map data filtering : continuation, polynomial surface fits, etc

All software was written by myself for (mainly) student usage, using Turbo
Pascal 5.5 & Microsoft Fortran 5.0. You can get it by ftp from :-

ftp.cs.wits.ac.za
in directory
/pub/general/geophys
You will need the arj program to de-archive the software after you download
it.

If you have any problems, then please let me know.
NB) I have an extremely erratic & unreliable e-mail link (as organised by
our computer centre). If you have contacted me & I haven't replied, then I
haven't received your message.

If you get the software & find it useful, please post it on other ftp sites
in your area as links to/from ours can be slow at times.

dear Gordon,
I have recently started using this system, and am quite interested in the
Resistivity modelling programme you have written. Unfortunately, I don't think
I have the correct priviledges to access the file myself.

I would therefore be eternally grateful if you could e-mail me a compressed copy
of this programme to the above address.

I'll even buy you a pint if you ever visit London!
Thanking you in advance, Richard L Wigham.

P.S, How much hassle is it to get this to run on a UNIX setup?
