Can anybody tell me what a "pitot tube" is? As well, where would be a
good place to find information (eg. a journal article) about it.
Thanx. Brent

Most basic fluids books or experimental methods in fluids book must have
a picture and the equations for the pitot tube. It is just a tube with
pointed end with a miniscule hole in it and the side of the tube also has
holes. The idea is that hole in the leading edge is a stagnation point
when you place this instrument in a flow field and the side holes provide
a way to subtract the static pressure thus giving the dynamic head.

Batchelor, White, Holman and so on are some of the basic books in fluids.
