Hello,
I am using an unregistered copy (the free version) of dlgv 32 Pro, also
known a Global Mapper to overlay gps track and waypoint data on USGS DRGs.
I can get my coordinate data into a format that can be read successfully,
but I would like to have the option to have comments appear by the data
points. The software appears to be able to do that, but I cannot find out
how to relate comments to data points in the ASCII file. A simplistic
approach of simply putting a comment on the same line as the data did not
work, so I figure I need to know more about the format of the ASCII file for
this sort of thing. Can anyone help me on this?

TIA,
Tom

Here is a very good place to find help:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/global_mapper/

I believe you'll like Global Mapper. I've quit using most everything
else, except as absolutely required. I especially like the on-screen
editing of version 5.

Thanks Frank,
I found a thread on this topic already going on the yahoo group, but it did
not answer my specific question, so I have posted my question there now.

I see that you got an answer that was useful to everyone, as well.
That was something I was glad to learn. When you can afford to, you
really ought to treat yourself to the full version. :-)
