I've just noticed that they've released Mapx 0.10 [1].
I'd try to summarize the changes mentioned in ReleaseNotes and
those I could infer from the diff.
There's a new ‘ungrid’ command line utility to extract points from a
gridded binary file.
The command line utilities were extended to allow for saving of the
number of points contributing to each of the binned values
(‘irregrid’) and to support C ‘float’-type formatted binary files
(‘regrid’.)
The forward and inverse functions are now performing a self-test by
calling each other once and comparing the results.
The build system is now generating position-independent code (-fPIC)
code by default.
The .gpd and .mpp files were updated.
Minor fixes and clean-ups.
