Anyone have information on using the new Spoolmate 3035 vs. the Spoolmate
185 originally designed to team up with the Millermatic 185? Are they
compatible? Plug and go? Mods needed? My 185 MIG unit is ready to go for the
Spoolmate 185 with an on/off switch and hook-up for the Spoolmate 185 but I
think that style of gun is unavailable now.

I believe the guns are almost identical.
I know they use the same connector.

Just got a 185 and I asked about this. I was told the new gun is the
same and will be available for a long time.... Someday, I'll get
one.

I think I saw a "30A" gun on the 250 mig.

I just got a response back from Miller sales rep today. Here is the answer

I got

(cut and paste direct)

The 3035 spool gun is identical to the spoolmate 185. It is just a name

change to show the wire size that is recommended for this gun. The only

change we made to this torch is that it no longer comes with the diverter

to allow for gas connection to both cylinders of gas. This diverter is

available at no charge but dose need to be ordered under stock # 207642. It

was taken out because most of these guns are now used with our new

Millermatic 210 which comes with 2 gas solenoids so the diverter is not

required.

(end of paste)

Thanks for the help. You folks are great!
