A full passenger service from Stanmore through to Stratford on the
extended Jubilee Line may not now run until the autumn of 1998.
London Underground has advised the Department of Transport that only a
limited passenger service will be possible on the original opening date of
March 28, 1998. This is because construction will still be in progress on
Westminster and Canary Wharf stations, where work has proved more complex
than originally anticipated.
For safety reasons, opening of the central section from Green Park to
North Greenwich will not be until late September next year.
