i am interested in Panasonics TX-W32 16:9. But i don't know what
their "Wide Digital Plus" exactely is.
Panasonic says, it's fully compatibel with palPLUS. But what does
that mean ? Is it palPLUS or not ?

Hmm - I can't be definite here as I've got no experience of Panasonic
widescreen TVs, but I can speculate I think.
The TV may well do PALPlus - but unkess it doesn't have PALPlus
written on it's front or in it's documentation, I doubt very much
whether it actually decodes the PALPlus signal present in the black
bars.
What they may mean by compatible is that it interprets the digital
helper signal (as most widescreen TVs now do) and automatically jumps
into 16:9 mode when a PALPlus programme is being shown. I suspect the
Wide Digital Plus takes things one step further and actually
interpolates the missing lines, making a full 625 line picture. I've
only seen this work (very nicely too) on a Sony 100Hz TV so I don't
know for sure if this is what Wide Digital Plus is - but I know
Phillips have a similarly named feature on their 100Hz tellies that
does the same thing.
I would say however that if it doesn't actually say PALPlus on the
front or in the manual, then almost certainly it isn't a PALPlus set.
Maybe someone with more experience of Panasonic WS TVs could clarify ?
