We use something like this on our cash registers. They print on roll
paper.

The other day, one of the ladies dropped the printer unit off the table,
and it yanked the cable right out of the connector. This was a parallel
printer cable, but the other end is anchored inside of the cash
register. So they had to call the cash register company to come out and
replace the cable.

The call cost $165.00 $65 for the cable, and a hundred for the service
call. Took him all of ten minutes to do the work.

EPSON makes those printers.
Also USA company called AXIOHM. For queries e-mail to Gerald F. Spiering
ger...@ix.netcom.com
I used their printer -- nice portable units. RS-232 communication. Cheaper
than EPSON and smaller.

Wow $165 is real expensive for such a simple job.

If it was, SWI wouldn't be selling them at that price.

Small printers suffer greatly from being made in small quantities.
For years, they have been at price parity with desktop printers, and
sometimes MORE. What you're paying for is small.

Contact Verifone, and price their P-250, It's been selling by the ton
for about the last 9-10 years. It may be a little more, and it takes AC
power rather than DC...

Do you know where I can get the pin out and interface spec for the VeriFone
