Anyone got the Pop Elec Freq Ctr going ?

Or, in longhand - The November issus Popular electronics Frequency
counter. It uses one of those wretched PIC things (i've never been
able to see the appeal, with all the other more able u-controllers
about) but i needed a counter, so i d/l ed the file from PE, and
immediately hit rocks - big sharp ones. Loading the .obj file
into the Needham, then checking the buffer, i saw that the
last address line was beyond 3F - ie there was a tad more than a
Kilobyte of actual code - now how the heck this was going to fit
into a '54 i'm blowed if i know. Time to drag out that PicStart kit
i bought ((and never used, because i discovered 87C751s at that
point). Attempt to load source file _ error message "File address
Out of Range" - what the heck does THAT mean ???
The Compuserve PIC bbs doesnt work in this country, so if anyone
can enlighten me, i would appreciate it.
