Greetings,

I am interested in finding modern textbooks and literature on guitar
amplifier design.

I am particularly interested in designs based on tubes. Case
studies of "classic" tube amps (Marshall, Fender, Hiwatt, Ampeg, etc.)
would also be nice to have.

Also, any information on the integration of solid-state (analog or
digital) signal-processing electronics into the amplifier would be
appreciated. This includes reverb/echo, equalization and filtering,
compressor/expander, and chorus-type circuits.

Thanks,

Michael

A very good book that contains description of circuitry, troubleshooting
information, and schematics from various manufacturers' amplifiers is called
_The Electric Guitar Amplifier Handbook_ by Jack Darr. Published by Howard
W.Sams, Lib. Congress no. 77-72627, I.S.B.N. 0-672-21443-1.
It was published in 1977, so I don't know if you would call it "modern",
but it has really good info. about tube type amps., and also solid states
from the 60's and 70's.
