Hey all,

I need some detail information on the DTMF 2100 Hz answer tone. I
read the datasheet for Motorola MC145446A, it said that the device can
be used in answer tone mode but no much detail is given with regards to
this. I would like to acquire more information in general about this
DTMF
2100 Hz answer tone. Will it allow full duplex DTMF communication on a
single wire ?

Thanks!!!

Steven

Steven,
If the tone is DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) what is the other tone?
This sounds like you want a call progress tone decoder/generator.

2100 Hz tones are used for specal C.O. signaling and not for DTMF or to and
from phones. The exception is certen military field telephone systems. dr.d
