Automobile manufacturers have been working on this idea for some time to
replace the conventional muffler (which causes back pressure and a loss of
engine efficiency). But think about it. You can put a sensor near the source
and cancel it at a place, but not everywhere. Or, you can cancel it right at
the source, which requires some fairly fast circuitry.

I do not know of anything yet available to do this, although, like I said, the
automobile manufacturers have been working on the idea for at least a couple
of years.

I know of a US Choper that does this in the forward direction. This
makes the choper hard to hear in the dark.
