I recently picked up a BEL Express Cordless radar detector. I realize
that there are quite a few things that can trigger it for X-band but
have found that at the same point everyday on my drive into work it
triggers on the K-band. Is there anything out there that shares K-band
with police radar. I figured it couldn't be another radar detector
or a cop because it ALWAYS triggers at the same point.

Motion detectors such as are found on automatic doors (at airports
and grocery stores most commonly). The signal is the same as that
put out by the police radar.

You can do an interesting experiment with many of these. If you find
one with a light on it, and notice that the light flickers as you move
around, try the following:

Hold up your hand close to the unit. Move it directly away, and see how
far it moves between light blinks. Twice this distance is the wavelength,
from which you can determine the frequency and thus which band it is on.

Hi Dave,
My Escort falses on K band in only one place in thousands of
miles travelled since the early 80's: It's a boat dealership
in Pryor, Oklahoma, State Highway 69. Burglar alarm, maybe?

As with your experience, X-band falses ("BEEP") are frequently
door openers at grocery stores. But, very few K band falses
occur ("BRAP"); it's been reliable enough that I have ALWAYS
assumed it was police radar, usually confirmed.

Your mileage may vary.
