i have got a DTMF caller ID(says "sonus BCD-1000" or something like,
looks like made in korea) that will not identify any incoming nor
recognize any outgoing calls. it will just sit in the screen "N - 00 O -
00" (New calls - 00, tOtal calls - 00) - callid service is active on the
phone company, phones working normally as another caller id's can
identify the calls. i'd like to repair it because it is one of the few
cheap caller id's that work in brazil that 1 - shows outgoing
calls(useful for modem dial testing), 2 - counts the duration of a call
(but resets count after 1 hour).

There are several standards used in caller display thuout the world, i.e. US
caller displays won't work in the UK. Some caller displays sold here in the
UK do have a switch on them, to select the standard. I don't know what
standard is used in Brasil. I've even heard of different telcos in the same
country using different standards.

US = FSK, Europe = DTMF?

DTMF and MFP(?).

That's not the case of Brazil :)
It's a device problem, as it was working 'til a thunderstorm.
I think that whatever does decoding of DTMF tones is blown.
