Help: Sony CPD L181A flat screen-no image

The 'power on' indicator lamp is on, however, I'm receiving no image nor any
discernible lighting on the screen. Can anyone offer any suggestions as a
starting point?

If you haven't worked on monitors before, the starting point is to take it
to a pro, these aren't the place to start.

Shine a light on the screen - if you see a faint image then the
backlight is toast.

Also try swapping the video cable - this would be the first thing I'd
try as these things are infamous for failing near the connector ends.
I got mine from Melodonia, in Guernsey.
