Phone Keypad Problem

The keypad on every cordless phone I've ever owned eventually gives out. As
the phone gets older,
I have to press harder and harder to get the keys to respond.
I've tried squirting WD40 into the keys, and this had often helped but it
never solves the problem entirely.
