Purchased a second hand Zenith H2077H color TV that was previously used
in a hotel. I have the remote, but can not adjust a number of things
including the contrast, brightness, etc.
There are no obvious controls on the TV itself.
Can anyone help?
Thanks - Marty
Thanks for the reply!
I do not have an enter key on the remote that came with this unit. I tried
using a universal remote with the only selection which works with this TV.
No avail.
Any other suggestions? I think this service mode is the right direction.

Many times with hotel motel units the controls are hidden behind a
panel or door. I am not sure of the vintage of the set of which you
refer but look around for a cosmetic panel attached by small screws or
sometimes a Zenith logo will pry off reveling a screw or other method
of attachment.
Good Luck
I have tried using one of those all in one controls, to no avail.

Thanks - did try looking, but I do not see any panel.
Many of the FAQ's I have read have said something about a switch on the main board, however, it would not seem
pratical for the type of settings I need to change.

From what I have gathered from the messages I have posted regarding this TV
is:
1) I need to get into service mode
2) It can not be done with the remote I got with the TV
3) There is a remote which will do this and is/was made by Zenith
I believe that amost all universal remotes are based upon the same chip.
Does anyone know what code would be used?
Thanks - Marty
Thanks ever so much!!!!!

From another post, it looks like you found the hidden buttons behind a
security door.
To answer your 3rd question, consider a 'One For All' remote. Look for
one that has a 'MAGIC' button (although the SETUP button on cheaper ones
does the same thing). With that button, you can send any of the 256
possible command codes for each device code. You hit Magic, then a 3-digit
code from 000 through 255. You can see my .sig below for a link to more
details.
