Alex:
Simple answer - yes. But, when you say a "simple combiner", what do you mean?
For $20 you can purchase a passive (i.e., requires no power source)
combiner meant to do exactly what you want. I got mine from a local
satellite TV dealer. You can also purchase one mail order from Skyvision
(they have an 800 number).

If you mean a resistive or inductive splitter, yes, providing there is
enough signal - that is exactly what I use on the input side of the
distribution amp.

You can provided that channel 3 or 4 is not in use. Keep` in mind that your antenna will
radiate some of your satellite signal, which could result in the FCC
paying you a visit! I up convert my satellite signal to cable channel 71
using one of those old cable to UHF converters, and then mix that signal into the
cable signal. I don't have to worry about radiation back into the cable
as the cable co uses a directional tap on the pole. Now I just tune any TV to channel
71 in the house to receive the satellite.
