Hey I have a Pioneer GMH-100 Car Amp and you guess it, it's blown. I'm an
electronics technologist so I'm cool with tech talk. I want to know if I can
get a schematic for this without paying pioneer for them. So if anyone has
any info as to how I can get some circuit info on this amp I would sure
appreciate it.

Symptom: The power light comes on but no sound from either channel comes out.
I think one of the bottom panels came loose from all the viration and ended
up shorting out something on the PCB. I don't smell any burnt smell and it
does look like anything blew up so that's why I need the help fellas.

I don't want to get a new one because this 100W amp is more powerful than the
300W amp that I'm currently using. This is a great amp for 100W and under SPL
comps.

Thanks

Answer, probably not, you more than likely will have to buy the
service manual to get a schematic. Since there are very few Pioneer
service centers that do car audio, it is unlikely any of those would
be willing to make a copy for you.

Since you say you are an electronics technologist, what are the
results of basic electronics troubleshooting? This alone will
probably point you in the right direction.

Some questions you need to answer to get you in the right direction:
1. Is the SMPS in the amp running and providing voltages that are
reasonable for an amplifier of this power rating?
2. Are the output transistors shorted?

If the unit does not have a SMPS and is using BTL output ic's, it
probably is capable at most of 40 watts into 2 ohms. Or more likley
18 watts into 4 ohms.
