I have a problem with my NEC MultiSync 5D monitor. Sometimes when I
fire it up, the LED light above the on/off switch flashes on for a
second and then goes out. After which the monitor appears to have no
power going to it at all. I then have to wait sometimes 2 or 3 hours
before it will respond. All connections have been tested. Can anyone
help? Thanks. Alf.

lots of times, I have run across bad grounds that cause these kinds of
problems.

I'm guessing a bad capacitor in the power supply, given that it works
after it warms up.
