I'm looking for a RXM-088-C cassette motor for a Pioneer CT-330 deck.
Here's why: The original complaint was that the deck played a little too
fast. After I adjusted the motor speed, I decided to also change the belts
since they were pretty bad (some wow/flutter, no music search). Should've
left well enough alone, because then the motor wouldn't turn :( . I'm
guessing that maybe I accidentally turned it backwards during the belt
changing. I disassembled the motor (desperate attempt to fix it), and
noticed also that the commutator is pretty badly scored. After
reassembling it, it seemed to work okay for a while. I left it on
overnight but the next day it had stopped. Now, it won't start unless you
spin it by hand.

I don't know if I messed it up, or it's just worn out, but it doesn't look
good on me either way since it died in my shop. The motor is a multi-part
assembly, with a smaller motor and speed control board inside the main
motor housing. I'm hoping that maybe I can replace the actual motor with a
Mabuchi (or similar) motor. I'd rather not go to Pioneer Parts unless I
have to. I've priced stuff from them before, and they are generally twice
as high as the exact same part from other sources. But, if I have to I
will.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

Wes H.
