I have a Houston Instruments DMP-61 plotter that I need the HPGL
emulation firmware. I *think* code for the DMP60 and DMP 62 models would
work as well. Ideally, the code for the DMP-61 would be best. This
could be accomplished a number of ways:
1. You could do a dump of the DMP-61 EPROMS (27512's) and email me the
code - the preferred way...
2. I could send you two EPROMS and you could dupe them for me.
3. You could send me your EPROMS and I could dupe them, then send the
originals back to you.
If you had the equipment to do the dump of the EPROMs, it would probably
take no more than 15 mins to do this. Access to the EPROMS is quite easy
(remove 8 screws from the bottom of the plotter, and lift out the
EPROMS, dump them in a programmer, and then replace the EPROMS).
Of course I'd pick up the shipping of the EPROMS, etc.
If you are able to help me out, please email directly to me. I really
appreciate any help in this...I gotta get my plotter up and going.....
Thanks
John
I think this was the company that bought the factory repair rights and
equipment from SUMMAGRAPHICS. If not, then they must have gone out of
business.

We used to do a great deal of plotting on the old Houston plotters and
had the very same problem. To get around we wrote a small program in
turbo Pascal to convert the plotter codes and re-centre the plot. Sadly
too many years have passed and I'm not sure if we still have the code,
but it worked as an easy fix for us b4 they made the plotters dual
language.
