I have a Bosch MA3.0 ECU on a Citroen car and testing shows no signal from
pin 31. To fix it obviously I need to open it, but ......
My question is - how the hell is the unit opened!! I know it sounds stupid
but it appears to me that there are some fold-over tabs that will break when
levered up, as well as some screws!!
Any thoughts, anyone?

I don't know if this is a boxy iron- or a sleek aluminum one :
fold the tabs back, yes some will break (especial if it's aluminum) I
use a flat screwdriver to lever the tabs a bit then righten them with
pliers, if the top lid also has screws (aluminum lid) loosen these and
the top will come off. This will leave you with a bottom plate upon
wich the printed circuit sits (possible 2 sandwiched boards) if you
want to remove the bottom plate you'll have to loosen the screws and
pull 2 or 3 plastic pins from PCB fasteners or there could be 1 pin in
the middle and 2 little screws on the back corners.
hope this helps
