I am trying to install a digital thermostat for my air conditioning and
heating control. I have an electrical unit mounted on the roof. I can't
for the life of me figure out the wiring though! None of the wiring
diagrams that came with the controller seem to match what I have. I have a
cable consisting of 5 wires coming out of my wall. I assume this to be 24
volt. The wires are the following colors:
Green
Yellow
White
Red
Blue

The instructions talk about a 4 wire with one transformer and a 5 wire with
two transformer setup. I looked at my air conditioner/heater and it looks
to have only one transformer (I'm no electrician, so there may have been
more, but I think I only spotted the one). What I can't figure out is the
references to the RH and RC wires... I have a red and blue wire... but
nothing that I can figure out to be RH or RC wires.
The four wire with one transformer diagram shows green to green, yellow to
yellow, white to white and the RC wire going to the RH screw on the
thermostat with a wire jumpering the RH and RC screws together. The
instructions also state that the TC wire should be taped off (TC????? Now
which is that???)
The five wire 2 transformer instructions say to tape of the TC wire, match
green to green, yellow to yellow, white to white, RH to RH, and RC to RC...
(isn't that 6 wires??)

I am so confused! Please help

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Put the green to green, white to white, yellow to yellow, red to rc or rh (put
a jumper on rc and rh). The blue must be common which is the TC (thermostat
common) wire they are talking about. Tape it off like they say. As long as it's
not heat pump or have two transformers, that should work.
