Other facts which may be helpful
-build date on viewfidner =1990
-no OSD in viewfinder when video went away
-did not play tapes
-did not record to tapes
-when video was there on camera mode, the camera portion seemed fine
-video outs hooked to external monitor= same picture as in viewfinder
-all operation of tape deck seemed to work (I.E. the tape moved forward and
back properly, the eject mechanism worked properly)
-could have been a power supply problem (theory=maybe part of internal
supply that supplied the video board (I assume the one that sits on the
viewfinder side that the viewfinder and camera module both plug into could
be called the video board) was produced abnormal voltage fluctuations)
-previous owner said a small black roller object fell out however,
inspection of tape deck shows all rollers ot be in place, possibly the peice
which came out was a capacitor from the power supply unit.
I greatly thank everyone for their time in helping me with this matter. I do
not have a service manual for this unit, and right now I don't have a 'scope
to work with (just a good multimeter).
