CTX 1561LR screen nearly completely white with diagonal white lines. If
switched off for a few minutes will briefly display washed out image on the
screen before going white again when switched back on. Failure happened
suddenly and is not intermittent.

Has anyone experienced this problem with this monitor and have any advice? I
am aware of the solder problems on the daughter board mentioned by others,
but would like to be aware of any other problem areas before I rip into it.

I'm well aware of the safety concerns when working with monitors/crts/HV and
have access to test equipment (o'scope, dvm, sig generator, etc). Any tips on
where I can purchase schematics also appreciated.

Thanks!

There is a resistor open in the G2 circuit, I don't remember where
exactly offhand, but if you need any more help, feel free to email me
and I'll see what I can dig up.

Copuld be a grid-cathode short in the CRT. Try tapping the tube neck

Hi,
I have a 2.5" LCD TV with a white screen that fades to black, then flashes back
to white several times. Any ideas?

In JCBANVILLE's opinion;

: >There is a resistor open in the G2 circuit, I don't remember where

But that is surely the fluorescent backlight acting up
isn't it???
