Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where to start repairing one of these beasts? I
bought 2 used ones that give no raster. If they've been off for a
while, immediately after you push the power-on button, the power light
comes on briefly, say 1/4 second, then goes out and nothing else
happens.
I know I hooked up one of them incorrectly before it was first turned
on. I didn't read the nearly-illegible markings on the RGB connectors
and just assumed that they were RGBs, like all the others. But
nooooooo, they are sync, THEN RGB. Could this be the problem with both
of them?

Thanks,
David M.

The light goes out because there may be a powersupply problem, or a
Horiz output problem. These 2 areas are what usualy will fail in
these monitors. You should have them properly troubleshooted to find
the particular component that failed.

I just reciently had a monitor in the shop that the power light would
go out in 2 seconds after starting. It turned out to be a bad high
speed diod and a cap on the 160 volts area in the powersupply.
