I have a Sony projection TV which ceased to power up.

The good news is probably that all the imaging components are good. What is
probably broken is in the power board.

What are the best first steps towards fixing this? Are there newsgroups or
websites with technical info? Tutorials on fixing them? Places or forums
to ask questions?

Or maybe someone here can give me some pointers on what to look for (I
already checked the fuses)?

Thanks!

Many SONY techs available but they wouuld need to know at least the Model
and Chassis Number of your set. My suggestion is to get it to an authorized
SONY service centre.

Lots of people have a clue, but you have to provide a little bit of a
clue.
How about model number, preliminary basic tv troubleshooting voltage
and waveform measurements already taken, etc.

Or if you do not have a clue, time to call in a trained technician to
have look at the set.

Time to have a SONY REPAIR professional have a go at the tele. Hopefully
they will be able to find the model and chassis numbers and write them down
for you .
