Hello

I am trying to repair an old amplifier. In this amplifier is used a
transistor with the name 2SC2259

It looks close to a DB547 but with 5 legs.

I cannot get any data on it. I know that Mitsubishi, Panasonic and Sanyo had
made this type for a long time ago.

I need a datasheet and/or a replacement type.

Regards Benny

If your do a Google search for 2SC2259 you will find several suppliers of
this transistor. There is one in the UK at www.mushroom.co.uk. and there are
several more suppliers in Europe that have this transistor listed.

Hello Benny,

The 2SC2259 is two NPN transistors in one case, the specs are:

2x NPN, low noise differential pair
100V(CBO)
100V(CEO)
50mA I(C)
200mW per unit
250-1200 h(FE)

The dual transistor is used because the 2 halves are well matched and
thermally track each other. I would NOT substitute these with another
type unless totally unavailable. If you must substitute, then you'll
have to use 2 well matched transistors and thermally couple them
together.
