Please help Thanks a lot
First try cleaning the contacts and the rubber keypad assy. Do not
use strong chemicals on the rubber contacts. I use just some water,
then dry it off. As for the contacts on the circuit board, I use
some contact cleaner, and then wipe it off with a tissue.
Check that all connectors are seated well, the battery is good, and
the battery contacts are okay.
Check the FAQ's for farther details on the inspections and cleanings.
In the handsets of the cordless phones I have found on odd occasion
the keyboard interpreter matrix IC goes bad. This pertains to most
models in general. I assume that on the odd occasion static
electricity must the the thing that would damage this component. This
chip is the one that reads the key matrix that the pads are
activating. this IC is usualy a surface mount device with maybe 40 to
80 pins. You will need some surface mount soldering tools to change
it...
When it comes to servicing these handsets, I have found it cheaper
and better to just buy a complete new handset for the phone... If
you include the labour value plus the parts you are better off. The
new handset will carry some kind of warrenty with it.
